Limited time bonus on Energy Incentives for NYSEG/RG&E until December 2024
Commercial customers of NYSEG and RG&E have the opportunity to capitalize on a Limited Time Year-End Bonus promotion for incentives to be applied towards energy efficiency projects.
Requirements for projects to qualify for the bonus:
- Commercial and Industrial projects are eligible for a 20% bonus (up to $20,000) if a final application is submitted by Saturday, November 30th, 2024.
- To qualify, projects must be completed and submitted for final approval by November 30th, 2024. Any projects not finalized and submitted by this date will not be eligible for the bonus.
- Projects classified under small business or gas savings are not eligible. The customer account must be categorized as Commercial and have an average peak demand of over 110 kW.
- Pre-approval is no longer required for prescriptive projects. Pre-Approval is REQUIRED for all custom projects.
NYSEG and RG&E to eliminate LED Lighting Rebates Beginning 2026
In July of 2023, the New York Public Service Commission filed an order (Case 18-M-0084) that will eliminate all utility incentive programs for LED lighting upgrades starting in 2026. This order will take effect across the entire state and impact all utility programs for New York non-residential customers.
Now is the time to capitalize on LED lighting rebates
NYSEG & RG&E incentives for LED lighting projects will cover up to 50% of the entire project cost (plus the additional 20% year-end bonus!). This gives C&I customers a fantastic opportunity to implement a state-of-the-art, energy efficient lighting system at a fraction of the price for a limited time.

Future-proof your building from Fluorescent Ban legislation
There has been a major movement of state-enacted bans on fluorescent lighting across the U.S. and Canada — prohibiting the future sale and distribution of technologies including Screw-Base and Pin-Base compact fluorescents (CFLs), as well as linear fluorescent tubes.
While New York is not one of the ten states to recently enact a ban, the recent order to scrap any LED rebate programs after 2026 may suggest that fluorescent ban legislation of their own is on the horizon.
